Product development continues to be a priority for us at the Bakeri, particularly with regard to gluten free bakes. One of my customers is helping with ideas and my small local team of taste testers are ready to taste at short notice!
Another area which we are working on is packaging. A large number of sample cake and postal boxes are being delivered so that we can play around with weight and quantities to keep postal costs as low as possible. We are going to be moving to providing 1kg and 2 kg hampers and will be working on what we can get in them over the next couple of weeks and then will update the website accordingly.
My good friends up North are helping with the development of our postal boxes and will be able to provide good feedback on how the bakes arrived. To date our hamper boxes have provided good support to the bakes but they are a bit on the heavy side, which is why we are testing alternatives so you can have more bakes in your boxes!!
Next week we are going to see how well the Eplekake travels up to Maryport, Cumbria by first class post!!!
